Corrosion is naturally a destructive process that occurs when some metals are exposed to the environment and occurs when reaction between air, moisture and the metal gives rise. It commonly occurs in iron-based metals, steels etc. There are different methods to prevent and control corrosion. One of the best known method is Cathodic Protection.

Cathodic protection is one of the main technique to prevent corrosion. Cathodic protection is of two types they are Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) and Galvanic Protection also known as DCCP. Cathodic protection systems protects a wide range of metallic structures in various environments.

Titanium is highly resistant to chemical attack and has the most elevated solidarity to weight proportion of any metal. These unique properties make Titanium reasonable for a large number of utilizations. It's firmness to weight proportion as steel is like steel meaning it can be used as a substitute where weight is an important consideration.

Platinized Titanium FRP Insulated Strip for Ship Hull Protection

clock February 16, 2022 10:55 by author admin

Platinized Titanium anodes take advantage of the low consumption rate and high current density. Voltages in excess of 10 Volts will result in severe pitting of the titanium core causing premature failure. Exterior protection of ships hulls - anodes in the shape of plates, discs or strips. Platinum is a least reactive metals that has remarkable resistance to corrosion, even at high temperatures.

The principle of cathodic protection is connecting an external anode to the metal to be protected and the passing of an electrical DC current so that all areas of the metal surface become cathodic and therefore do not corrode. DC current is sent through an insulated wire to the anodes buried in the soil near the articles like underground storage tank, pipeline & etc.

Platinized FRP insulated strip Anode with impressed current leads to protect the hull of the ships. Negative terminal which is connected to ship hull and positive terminal with impressed current anodes. Underwater steel structures protection like wharves, jetties, sheet pile walls and piers. Usually rod type anodes are distributed throughout the structure for protection and to give a good current distribution.

FRP Strip

Advantages:

  • Increases life of rudders, shafts, struts and propellers.
  • Anodes are light and compact for easy shipping, storage and   installation.
  • High current efficiency.
  • High anti-corrosion property & lasting working life.

MMO COATED ROD AND MMO COATED FASTENERS

clock June 4, 2020 11:14 by author admin

Cathodic protection is most innovative technique to protect the corrosion of active metal surfaces. Cathodic protection is used all over the globe to protect pipelines, big concrete structures, water treatment plants, above and underwater storage tanks, ship and boat hulls, offshore production platforms, reinforcement bars in concrete structures and jetties and piers.

There are two types of cathodic protections one is impressed current cathodic protection cathodic anodes and number two is depressed current cathodic protection.

In depressed current cathodic protection system, the anode which is used to protect the structure will be sacrificial. Its life is too short not more than two years. But in impressed current cathodic protection system, the anode which will be connected to the DC power is act as a barrier to protect the structure.

Tiaano manufacturing and supplying ICCP anodes over 63 countries.

Our recent supply the spares of MMO coated rod and MMO coated fasteners to protect the pipe line structure.

MMO COATED PIGGY PACK FOR CATHODIC PROTECTION

MMO COATED PIGGY PACK FOR CATHODIC PROTECTION

Piggy pack anodes are used to protect the tank bottoms. It’s the easiest method of cathodic protection which may not need a weld at site and also easy to handle and install.

Piggy pack wire anodes connected with cable by the way of Crimping and sealing with mastic and heat shrink sleeve procedure. Tiaano have the in house facility to crimp the anodes in LIDA and CPCC connection.

The piggy pack anodes are inserted in the jacket with coke fill to sustain the conductivity of the anodes in the place where we install for cathodic protection.
