Platinized Titanium anodes are widely used for various applications including Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) such as hard chrome plating, metal electroplating, electronics, semiconductor industry, chemical process engineering, electroplating, electro dialysis, electroforming (Conforming anodes), electrochemical sensing, electro winning and metal refining, electrolytic regeneration of chromic acid, sodium hypochlorite production, Electro synthesis of organic and inorganic chemicals Etc.,

This platinized titanium anode are highly competent to survive the atmosphere whereas high chemical and environmental corrosion risk exist such as.

Surface resistance of Platinized titanium anodes are very less by nature while compare conventional electrodes, so power efficiency of an entire process become superior.

Platinum layer on titanium substrate become stable during an entire design life, so this anodes are also known Dimensionally Stable Anode.

Platinized titanium anodes are manufactured with a titanium base structure, in the form of either plate, rod, wire, mesh or tube (or any shape as per request). Catalyst thick on surface: Platinum (in micron thick) 2.5 to 7.5; MMO (in micron thick) 8.0 to 10.0.

We Tiaano design, manufacture and supply MMO & Platinum plated Titanium and Niobium anodes for Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP).  According to the customer’s requirement we manufacture the anodes from copper cored titanium and copper cored niobium too.   Our anodes are gone through the accreditation test by M/s. TWT, London as per NACE standard TMO 294-200.

Mixed Metal Oxide (MMO) coated titanium rod and Platinized Titanium rod anodes are to be designed & manufactured by Ti Anode Fabricators Pvt. Ltd, Chennai, India. Platinum is one of the noble group of metals also a precious metal, which has excellent catalyst materials. Platinum is conductive, chemically stable and highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. It has a silvery-grey colour and can be polished to a variety of products.

MMO Coated Titanium Rod is usually used in cantilever anode which is used for protecting pipeline internal, pump internal & condenser box internal for 30 years and more by applying DC current with transformer rectifier.

Platinized Titanium and Niobium probe / cantilever type anodes are also available for use in Internal ICCP of process vessels such as pipes, condenser water boxes and heat exchangers where the interior is difficult to access and its space limited. Such anodes are often mounted through the vessel shell, with the anode part of the probe extending into the vessel, and wire connections made to the probe on the exterior of the vessel.

 Tiaano offer Platinised Titanium and Niobium cantilever (probe) anodes for this application (medium seawater, fresh water and brackish water) Also Tiaano offer platinized Rods and Tubes suitable for cantilevers (probes).

The primary use of platinized titanium anodes is in the field of Cathodic Protection. The anodes are used in structures buried in soil and the steel exposed to marine environments such as oil and gas producing platforms, ships, oil well casings and jetties.

Platinized Titanium Anodes synergistically combine the favourable electrochemical features of platinum (Pt) with the corrosion resistance and other characteristics of titanium. They are anodes normally produced by the electrochemical deposition of a very thin layer of platinum metal onto a titanium substrate. These anodes operate as inert anodes with high durability and are preferred because they remain insoluble in common electrolytes.

Platinum is an excellent anode material due to its high conductivity and low consumption rate. Cathodic protection is most innovative technique to protect the corrosion of active metal surfaces. Cathodic protection is used all over the globe to protect pipelines, big concrete structures, water treatment plants, above and underwater storage tanks, ship and boat hulls, offshore production platforms, reinforcement bars in concrete structures and jetties and piers.

There are two types of cathodic protections one is impressed current cathodic protection cathodic anodes and number two is depressed current cathodic protection.

In depressed current cathodic protection system, the anode which is used to protect the structure will be sacrificial. Its life is too short not more than two years. But in impressed current cathodic protection system, the anode which will be connected to the DC power is act as a barrier to protect the structure.
